Recent News: I recently completed a statistical analysis of Austin’s design community for an upcoming essay by Vitorio Miliano.  It will be published in the new quarterly pocket book Distance.  Visit Kickstarter to order a copy.  Additional results from this data set were posted last week.

Also, a paper I co-authored entitled “The Positive Influence of Television on Attitudes Toward Deaf Culture” has been accepted for the ICA 2012 communication conference in Phoenix.  For those who aren’t attending, a live-streamed virtual conference will also be available.


I’m a cognitive psychologist who studies how people interact with technology.  A lot of this work has been done with the Disney Media & Advertising Lab, but I also love collaborating with other researchers and designers (so if you’re looking to start up a project, don’t hesitate to get in touch).

In my free time I plan and coordinate community meetings with the other board members of the Austin UPA, as well as working on various papers and side projects.  And for those who are wondering, my name is pronounced LEE-win, but I’ll respond to anything that starts with an L.
